Abstrak

Metode didalam pembelajaran merupakan salah satu faktor  yang berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan proses dan ketuntasan belajar biologi peserta didik. Penggunaan metode discovery di SMP Negeri 11 Pujut masih kurang optimal yang mengakibatkan peserta didik kurang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode discovery diharapkan dapat membantu pendidik dan peserta didik dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses dan ketuntasan belajar yang ditentukan. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan dari penggunaan metode discovery dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses dan ketuntasan belajar biologi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan populasi dan sampel adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan tes dimana instrumennya berupa lembar observasi dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode discovery efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses dan ketuntasan belajar biologi peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Pujut
