Utilization of Yard Land in an Effort to Support Food Security with the Verticulture Method in Pelambik Village

Abstrak

The problem experienced by the people of Pelambik  village is that vegetable cultivation is still very rarely done. Another problem faced by the people of Pelambik village is the underutilized use of their yard as a place to grow vegetables. The aim of this community service program is to help increase the community's ability to use the yard using the verticulture method which can help the food or vegetable availability for the people of Pelambik village. In this program. plywood, wood, meter, gembor, wire, and paranet were utilized. While the materials needed were: soil, manure, MPK fertilizer, water, pakcoy seeds, red spinach and chili. The distribution of plant seeds was given to 17 hamlets in Pelambik village. Where the total number of plant seeds consisted of 360 chili seeds, 86 pakcoy seeds, and 150 cashew plants. Meanwhile, each hamlet received 20 chili seeds, 4 pakcoy seeds, and 8 cashew plants. As the program implemented, it was found that the land or area around the houses was used for planting purposes by the people of Plambik. Most of them were enthusiastic in taking part and participating in this program. They were also more aware of the importance of using the yard around their houses for planting vegetables using the verticulture method.
