Implementation of Discovery Learning Based Learning with CRT and TaRL Integration in the Independent Curriculum on Newton's Law Material for Class VII Science to Improve Concept Understanding

Abstract
This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing a Discovery Learning-based learning model which is integrated with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) and Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approaches in Newton's Law material. The main goal is to see whether this model and approach can improve students' understanding of concepts. To achieve this aim, this research uses a quasi-experimental method with a one-group design, which includes the application of a pretest and posttest. Data analysis was carried out using the N-gain test on the pretest and posttest results of the experimental group. From the research results, an N-gain value of 0.49 was obtained, which is included in the medium criteria. These results indicate that the implementation of Discovery Learning-based learning methods integrated with the CRT and TaRL approaches in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum on Newton's Law material can effectively improve students' conceptual understanding.
