Abstract
The role of visual learning media is crucial in enhancing the education experience, helping students engage with the material, understand abstract science concepts, and improve learning achievements, especially in the topic of Plant Body Parts in science learning. However, the integration of interactive and technology-based media in classroom learning remains limited. This study aimed to develop a valid, practical, and effective Augmented Reality (AR)-based BUCARA Flipbook for fourth-grade students. The novelty of this study lies in integrating AR technology with an interactive flipbook designed to support elementary science learning through visual and contextual experiences. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model and involved 29 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Gunungpati 02 Semarang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the AR-based BUCARA Flipbook was categorized as very feasible with a validation score of 95% and received highly positive responses from teachers and students. The paired-sample t-test indicated a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000 < 0.05). In addition, the N-Gain score of 0.7374 indicated a great improvement in students' learning outcomes. In conclusion, the AR-based BUCARA Flipbook is an innovative and effective learning medium for improving elementary students' IPAS learning outcomes.
